it feels like there is not an ugly building in the whole of vienna. with its architeture it cannot help but be a romantic city, my time wass spent sampling the cultural delights of the city rather than partying until 7am each night, so there was a distinct change of pace from poland
perhaps the best 3 euro one can spend in the whole of europe is to attend the vienna state opera where i saw a brilliant perforrmance of richard wagner's the flying dutchman
it is a city ripe for walking because of its breathtaking beauty. just magnificent. some of my favourite places were;
shoenbrunn palace, and the world famous gloriette; the vienna rathaus which is yet another breathtaking piece of architecture insside and out; schimdt is everywhere he is the architect with the most distinct mark on the city; the history in volksgarten where i slept like a homeless person on the morning i arrived in vienna at 5am on my overnight bus; belvedere complex with its baroque palaces and lavish gardens; the large public park wiener prater
